BRIEFING
The project explores the resignification of Parque da Juventude, questioning the alternation between memory and erasure of the former Carandiru Penitentiary Complex.
The approach questions the resignification and possible erasure of collective memory.
WHAT WAS DONE
Development of a visual identity based on the park’s map, highlighting its different phases – the past as a prison, the present as a park and the potential future. In addition, an interactive magazine was created that explores the Carandiru massacre.
RESULTS
A visual narrative that promotes
reflection on the Carandiru Massacre and how episodes of state violence can be covered up under new layers, repeating themselves in a veiled manner over time.
